Volunteers

It takes a village, and we have the best one in Peachtree City/Fayetteville.

PLEASE help this season be the best and run as smooth as possible. Everyone wants to see their child swim, and if we share the jobs this can be achieved.

Go to the SignUp Calendar, click on the meet and job roles available. You are not required to have done the role before, and they are all easy to learn.

EACH ROLE IS DESIGNED SO THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR KID SWIM.

For the roles that non-swimming teenagers are eligible to do, please have them reach out to me and I will add them to the schedule and provide instructions.

PRE MEET REQUIREMENTS

SET UP CREW - Arrive at 4pm for home meets. Assist coordinators and coaches in setting up pool area for the meet.

CAR PARKING - Direct all traffic (golf carts to grass area behind tennis courts) and cars to the appropriate areas for parking. Ensuring no cars are parked in the turning circle at front of clubhouse, or in front of residents homes in close proximity to the club house. Signs put out on main road. Once meet starts your job is done.

DURING MEET REQUIREMENTS

BULLPEN - Ensures swimmers are in order of races about 5 races in advance, and get them pumped up for their race! Needs to be organized and directive to swimmers. Should be familiar with swimmers names and faces. Arrive at least 15 minutes before meet begins. This is not a stay in one place, slow paced job and you will be on the move the entire meet.

HEAD TIMER - Keeps the official time for each race. Must watch all lane timers to ensure stopwatches were started correctly. Pool side the entire meet.

COMPUTER INPUT - two person job. One computer based and one calling out information. Inputting times and DQ reasons from timer sheets & DQ slips. Printing of result labels. Also suitable for a non-swimming teenager

RIBBONS - Assists the person inputting times. Put stickers on the meet ribbons and file them during and after the meet. Ad-hoc requirements throughout the meet. Also suitable for a non-swimming teenager

RUNNER - Collect time timer sheets from timers and DQ slips from stroke judges and take to computer table. Ad-hoc requirements throughout the meet. Also suitable for a non-swimming teenager

TIMER (2 shifts) - Time swimmers throughout the respective shift (2 shifts per meet). Paired with opponent volunteer. Best view in the house.

AFTER MEET REQUIREMENTS

CLEAN UP CREW - Must be willing to stay after meet has finished. Assist coordinators and coaches in putting the teams equipment away and putting the pool deck back in order. Although everyone is part of the clean up crew to get the party started ASAP.

JOB SIGNUPS

11+ year old swimmers are able to volunteer with the 5-7 year old practices each day, and it counts towards Beta Club hours (forms for RSMS & SMHS attached, but not limited to these schools.) Click on SignUp Calendar, pick the day your 11+ year is available and sign them up using the Job SignUp button. There are 14 volunteers required each practice. The sign up will be done under the parent name. If you have 2 kids eligible to help, you must have 2 adults as registered parents and put both names down.

If your child can't make the day they have signed up for, it is their responsibly to find a fill in. If your child doesn't turn up on a day, without cover, they will not be allowed to volunteer for the remainder of the season.
